Consequences

Dr. John Olver, a neuro-rehabilitation physician explains what happens to a passenger when they're not wearing a seatbelt during a car crash.

"The car accelerates. You lean forward in your seat smashing against the windshield. Shock waves ripple through the brain, instantly damaging cells. Your body is like a pinball bouncing off the dashboard, roof, and seats. The forces fracture limbs and puncture your lungs. The result could mean severe brain or spinal injuries from which you are unlikely to recover fully."
